Worried you won’t be able to mine enough minerals or build that really special staircase in EverQuest, fear no more!

Peep this developer diary of the new crafting systems for EverQuest Next. While it’s certainly looking pretty darn Minecraft-like up in here Next offer a slightly different approach by rewarding players for constructing complicated items with some form of reward for their hard work.

The quality and types of things player can construct is vast, but remember this isn’t a world building game, this is an aside to the main EverQuest Next story offering up tons of ways players can spend time. Not to mention the incredible dark-wood mahogany staircases players can build. Norm Abram would be proud.

EverQuestNext is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game that follows up the adventures of the first generation of MMO’s: EverQuest, EverQuest Online, and EverQuest II. Look for Next sometime in 2014.
