The best thing on the Internet right now.

There are two things the Rocky series is synonymous with: the city of Philadelphia, and specifically, Rocky's famous run through the city, finishing atop the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Curious about how realistic the run was (editing can do wonders, folks), one brave writer set out to determine the distance that Rocky traveled in miles during Rocky ll's training montage.

According to writer Dan McQuade, the USA Track and Field distance measuring tool was used to determine exactly how far Rocky traveled. The finished product is amazing. Beginning at his house (2313 Lambert St. in South Philly) and ending at the Art Museum steps, Rocky would've traveled 30.61 miles during those eight scenes.

So, as McQuade mentions, Rocky damn near ran a 50K while training. Quite impressive, Rocky. Quite impressive.
