While everyone was so busy discussing the pros and cons of Ben Affleck as Batman in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel, this gem of a story surfaced on Cosmic Book News this past weekend: Bryan Cranston as Lex Luthor. It's hard to tell whether or not there's any actual truth to this rumor, but it doesn't sound too farfetched—and it would be a great casting choice, not only because we know Bryan Cranston is an amazing actor, but also because we know he looks alright (and sinister) with a bald head, and that's a fairly rare trait to have.
Since there's no confirmation of this rumor, here's the original report so everyone can judge for themselves:
Bryan Cranston has been cast as Lex Luthor in what is said to be at least a six "appearance" deal (think of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury popping up in every Marvel movie in the run-up to Avengers) and may be as high as ten. Look for the official announcement to follow the conclusion to the final season of Breaking Bad as WB wants to dovetail off the end of that.
It's worth noting that the report also says Matt Damon is up for the role of Aquaman, because "DC also does have major interest in bringing [casting him] that Affleck is on board." Taking this with a grain of salt for now.
