Random Collection of People Bail New York's Real-Life Nancy Botwin out of Jail

Weeds comes to life.

Andrea Sanderlin, Westchester, N.Y.'s real-life "pot mommy," is a free woman after "friends" pooled money together to bail her out of prison. Sanderlin had been locked up since May after being charged with overseeing a massive marijuana growing operation when 3,000 marijuana plants $3 million were discovered in a Queens warehouse.

Sanderlin's was joined in a Brooklyn federal court yesterday by Thomson Reuters executive assistant Sudhey Reyes, MTA engineer Steven Arroyo, hair stylist John Lichioveri and colorist Mark Mileti. A few hours later, she was free on $500,000 bail.

Judge Steven Gold remained suspicious of Sanderlin's connection to this random group. “She doesn’t know these people,” he said. "She knows people that knows these people." That's the drug game for you. Anyway, Gold has granted Sanderlin's family until tomorrow to sign on the bail deal or he'll snatch it away.
