It's only fitting that the first major documentary about indie game developers would have a downloadable expansion.

Indie Game: The Movie, Special Edition will drop on July 24 and include tons of bonus material including commentary, epilogues, and interviews about the stories in the original documentary. In case you somehow missed it, the doc details the development cycle and challenges of indie game developers and their internal, social and industry pressures. Plus there is a ton of Super Meat Boy footage, which makes it worth it.

The games featured in the documentary all became big deals right as the film ends, so watch it again and see why the hell Phil Fish is always so excited, or just stare longingly into his mutton chops, whatever gets you there.

Download the original, or pre-order the special edition on the film's website. Also Indie Game is still available on NetFlix, in standard, non-expanded form.
