In this alpha gameplay trailer for Lunar Software's upcoming title Routine we finally get a look at how this shooter - not shooter - set in the retro-future will scare the crap out of you.

Routine, a "first person horror exploration game set on an abandoned Moon base," features dark levels and creepy ambiance that's enough to give you chills but set within a world of floppy drives and old CTX-type monitors gives the feeling of a lost world. Routine will feature a different set-up than traditional shooters in that the primary weapon will work more like a multi-tool. Allowing players to access screens, download information use night-vision as well as blasting away every now and then.

Lunar Software has revealed that the game will focus on a terrifying level of realism, with no HUD, no points, no health bars, no health pack, no multiple lives, just the cold embrace of death awaiting your folly. If that isn't enough to freak you out Routine hopes to launch with Oculus Rift VR support. No date of release yet for Routine, but it couldn't come soon enough.
