Man Killed by Train at City College Station Is NYC's 30th Subway Fatality This Year

The annual total for subway deaths in New York City continues to rise.

A 20-year-old man fatally struck by a 1 train heading south at the City College station at 137th & Broadway Streets last night became the 30th subway fatality in New York City this year. The NYPD says no criminality is suspected in the incident. This brings the tally to 78 people who have been struck by trains this year and 30 fatalities. At this rate, NYC is on pace to top last year's totals of 141 hit by trains with 55 resulting deaths.
