After seemingly endless speculation, former congressman Anthony Weiner has formally announced that he is running for mayor of New York City. Nevermind the sexting scandal, the 48-year-old Democrat vows to fight for the middle class, referencing his own middle class upbringing in Brooklyn. According to the New York Daily News, Weiner has upwards of $4 million in campaign funds. Started from the bottom?
The two-minute video, which Weiner filmed in Park Slope, wouldn't be complete if he didn't reference his, uh, "mistake." He hopes that throwing his name into the 2013 mayoral race will grant him the opportunity to make it up to the people of New York City.
People make mistakes. Even our congressmen are ordinary people.
