The Xbox 720 May Have The Same Guts As The PS4

The battle is heating up.

None

When Sony announced their next generation console, they mentioned that the PlayStation 4 would be using a more PC-like set up. Now, as the date draws closer to Microsoft's unveiling of the Xbox 720, news of the system's specs are starting to leak out.

According to Bloomberg, AMD will be supplying the same type of processing chips to both Sony and Microsoft for their upcoming consoles. This will in turn, drive down the costs of manufacturing the machines and for consumers, put both systems on a more level playing field as far as the potential quality for video games. The downer is that because of the system switch, Xbox 360 games won't be compatible with the Xbox 720.

Microsoft is expected to announce the new console May 21.

Is this enough to sway your decision on whether to buy one console over the other? Let us know in the comments below.
