Hugh Jackman was just up in the gym working on his fitness yesterday when a crazed fan came up to him and started crying. Ok, weird, but probably nothing he hasn't seen before. 47-year-old Katherine Thurston then declared her love for him, and when that didn't work, she pulled out an electric razor full of her pubic hair and followed him around the gym for a while. Finally, Thurston threw it at him and left.
The police caught the woman a few blocks away from Gotham Gym around 8 a.m. He told them this isn't their first encounter—she's also showed up at his daughter's school and his home.
Trainer Mike Castle said he saw Thurston make a beeline for Jackman and that she didn't actually throw anything. "The razor fell out of her hands when I stepped in between them," he said. An NYPD spokesman said Thurston left after gym security showed up, but they arrested her outside and charged her with stalking.
"Here’s a woman who obviously needs help so I just hope she gets the help she needs," Jackman said. "I suppose for me, the primary concern is my family, obviously." Thurston's arraignment is scheduled for Thursday—we're guessing a restraining order might be in the works.
