Looks like the rumors were true: Pint-sized Oscar-nominee Quvenzhané Wallis is set to take over Willow Smith's lead role in Will Smith and Jay-Z's upcoming adaptation of the Annie musical. If you don't recall, Willow dropped out of starring as the little orphan Annie after she "grew out" of the role and, in her father's words, decided she'd rather enjoy being a kid than working from such a young age.

This is great news for Wallis, however, something that her career doesn't seem to be lacking - at nine, she's already the youngest to ever be nominated for a Best Actress Academy award.

Smith and Jay-Z's Annie adaptation, which is set to be directed by Friends With Benefits and Easy A director Will Gluck, is set to begin shooting later this year for a holiday 2014 release.
