NY News Anchor Off the Air for Choking His Wife

There was an affair with an intern, obviously.

None

A news anchor for the New York City local CBS affiliate was arrested this week after oh, you know, choking his wife. Cops have been involved in a couple domestic abuse calls at the home of Rob Morrison and his wife Ashley, who's a reporter on CBS Money.

When they showed up this time, though, Morrison was ridiculously drunk, called the police "fucking asshole cops" and "sergeant douchebag" (probably not a good idea). Then he told them, "I can't go home tonight man, I'm fucking killing her!" This is after he, an ex-Marine, choked her with both hands on the couch; she hit him in the face with the remote to get away.

Ashley's mom said this has been going on for 10 years and that Ashley is too scared to leave him because he said he'd shoot their 7-year-old son in front of her and then kill her, too.

Morrison used to be a morning anchor on WNBC, but his contract wasn't renewed after Ashley emailed 100 people in the newsroom for "being complicit in his suspsected affair with an intern." Now, he's been ordered to stay 100 yards away from her, and he can't contact her or go to the house.

He, of course, says the police made the entire report up. Yeah, we're sure they just picked a random dude's house and made up a story about one news anchor trying to kill another. But he can't explain the marks on Ashley's neck. He says they started fighting after watching Mystic Pizza, but it was a fight "any couple would have." You know, the usual chokehold.
