Last night, in the midst of pre-Mardi Gras celebrations, four people were shot on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. According to New Orleans police spokesman Frank B. Robertson, two men and two women were shot around 9:30 p.m. One of the men was left in critical condition and has gone through surgery, but the other three victims are in stable condition.
Authorities are still in the process of identifying a suspect and possible motive for the shooting. The violence did not stop the party however, as people continued to celebrate into the wee hours of Sunday morning.
