PETA has blessed Los Angeles by naming it their city of the year for 2012. L.A. was chosen for several reasons, such as being the largest American city to stop pet shops from selling animals from breeders and puppy mills. In addition, the city considered a future ban that would prohibit "circuses and other traveling exhibitions from forcing elephants to perform in L.A.." Also, City Council endorsed Meatless Mondays.
PETA just couldn't stop gushing over L.A.:
In July, Dodger Stadium took the fifth spot on PETA's annual list of the Top 10 Vegetarian-Friendly Major League Ballparks. L.A. is also the hometown of PETA's 2012 Person of the Year, the fabulous Anjelica Huston.
Congratulations, Los Angeles.
