After four days of silience on all of its social media platforms, the NRA has finally announced it will hold a press conference on Friday. The news came via Twitter at 4:42pm EST on Tuesday. As Mashable reports: "The NRA's Facebook page has also returned after being disabled, featuring a link to the release and a new cover photo reading 'PRESS CONFERENCE.'"
In a statement released today, the association, which has come under heavy fire since the horrific school shooting in Newton, said:
National Rifle Association of America is made up of four million moms and dads, sons and daughters – and we were shocked, saddened and heartbroken by the news of the horrific and senseless murders in Newtown.
