Apparently the plots conflicted with the sensitive nature of the tragedy.

In the wake of yesterday’s horrific school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary that left 26 innocent people dead, Fox has decided to pull the new episodes of Family Guy and American Dad from the air on Sunday, according to The Futon Critic. There is no firm reason as to why these episodes have been pulled, but it’s assumed that the nature of the plots were found to be insensitive given the situation. The network will air repeats from each series in its place.

However, Fox isn’t pulling every episode from its animation lineup tomorrow because Bob’s Burgers and The Simpsons will still air as planned. That’s likely due to the fact that neither of those episodes will feature controversial plots. There is no word on when Fox will air these new American Dad or Family Guy episodes, but given that this weekend was supposed to be dedicated to Holiday-themed stories, the network might decide to scrap them altogether.
