Wildlife officials in south Florida are trying to determine the origin of a softball-sized eyeball that washed ashore in Pompano Beach on Wednesday. Here's what the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission had to say about this random incident on their Facebook page:

A guessing game has been launched as everyone tries to figure out where massive eye came from. Some of the proposed theories are a squid, a whale, perhaps a swordfish. After the eyeball has been properly preserved to prevent decay, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute will launch an official investigation to figure out where the hell this thing came from.
