Sorry Scotty, looks like nobody gets beamed up. As of today Star Trek: Infinite Space looks to be an extinct species. A second Star Trek MMO, behind Star Trek Online, has been permanently cancelled.
Publisher Gameforge explains: "Since autumn 2011 we made many efforts to find a publishing and marketing partner for Star Trek: Infinite Space. Unfortunately, our efforts were not successful. So we have decided with a heavy heart to finally abandon the project Star Trek: Infinite Space."
While by no means a crippling blow to the gaming world, I know some people are religious in their devotion to the franchise, and will be understandably let down. Lucky for them there are no shortage of MMOs to get their fix from.
