Rumor: Rocksteady's Next Game Will be a "Silver-Age" Batman Prequel

Rocksteady may be dropping the "Arkham" timeline in favor of a classic "Silver Age" look.

Batman: Arkham City developer Rocksteady will return to Gotham City in their next game, but not the one they've created in their last two "Arkham" games. According to Variety, the studio has begun working on a Batman "prequel" aesthetically based on the Silver Age of comics. The game's supposed plot is equally retro, focusing on a series of events "that revolve around Batman's first meeting with the Joker."

Neither Rocksteady or Warner Bros. Interactive have said a word about the studio's next project.

According to the report, Rocksteady's new Batman project won't be ready until 2014 at the earliest, so don't flip your lids just yet. In the meantime, somebody has to start scouring Arkham City for retro comic books or maybe even a whole secret room to tease us.
