People in the United Kingdom will soon be able to have their dream projects funded by complete strangers. Kickstarter, the crowd-funding platform that's heavily impacted the way inventors and entrepreneurs go about finding backers, took to its Twitter page yesterday and tweeted that "People in the UK will be able to launch projects on Kickstarter starting this autumn!"
Founded in 2008 by Perry Chen, Yancey Strickler, and Charles Adler, Kickstarter has helped more than 20,000 projects find funding. Since its launch, the site has collectively raised over $229 million.
There's no word on when Kickstarter will officially launch in the U.K. The company closed its tweet by promising "more info soon!"
