One of the staples of the Iron Man character is the countless variations he has made to his trademark armor since his debut. In fact, it's almost unheard of for the character to be in the same exact suit for over a year. And through Iron Man's first three movie appearances, he has already worn seven different designs—each of which brought something unique to the story.
Now as we gear up for Iron Man 3, Marvel has unveiled Tony Stark’s latest big screen armor at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Decked-out in much more gold than ever before, this new piece of equipment is one of the most drastic changes from the comics we have seen from the character yet. And with this movie being rumored to be based on Warren Ellis’ “Extremis” storyline, there is a chance that this could be the armor that is grafted right into Stark’s skeletal structure.
What do you think about this new suit? Does it surpass the original, or did Marvel go a little overboard with the gold?
Iron Man 3 hits theaters on May 3, 2013.
