According to Deadline, Puerto Rican actor Benicio Del Toro is teaming up with French director Arnaud Desplechin for Jimmy Picard, which is based on the book by Georges Devereux, Psychotheraphy of a Plains Indian. The film will follow the "true story of a friendship between a Native American and a French psychoanalyst," and begin shooting later this month in Michigan.

Del Toro will be portraying the title character, Jimmy Picard, the aformentioned Native American who befriends the French psychoanalyst. It seems like an odd casting choice, given that Del Toro himself is not remotely Native American and there are tons of actual Native American actors out there that would fit the role just as well, but this is Hollywood so why are we even surprised by these things anymore?
