"I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together," Adele announced on her website today. The 24-year-old singer has been dating her current boyfriend Simon Konecki, 36, since last summer, but kept their romance under wraps until last January.
"I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx," she concluded.
But the pregnancy news shouldn't come as a total surprise. Shortly after her Grammy sweep, Adele told Vogue that she wanted to take a break from music and focus on her personal life.
"If I am constantly working, my relationships fail," she candidly revealed. "So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy."
She then hinted at her future: "And then I don't know what I'll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch."
Little by little, what she envisioned is starting to come to fruition. Perhaps she'll change her mind and squeeze an album somewhere in there? That'd be nice.
