As we wait for Ridley Scott to unleash the spiritual prequel to Alien in his latest movie, Prometheus, the director is already setting his sights on a sequel to his 1982 masterpiece, Blade Runner. In an interview with The Independent, the venerable director elaborated on his plans for the movie, especially when it comes to his desire to see Harrison Ford back in the role of Rick Deckard.
In a short quote during the interview, Scott stated, "I don't think it'll be Harry [starring]. But I've got to have him in it somewhere. That'd be amusing."
It will be interesting to see if Scott uses Ford in the sequel to once-and-for-all end the debate over Deckard's humanity, which is still a heated subject amongst fans of the original. Either way, it wouldn't feel right for a Blade Runner sequel to take place without a cameo by Ford at the very least. Hopefully it's an organic part of the story and not just an obnoxious wink to fans.
