Jonaya Peterson of Waterbury, Conn., narrowly escaped death yesterday after a drunk driver crashed his Ford Explorer through the front of a 7-Eleven. Surveillance cameras inside the store caught the shocking footage, which shows the vehicle plowing through the entrance, just narrowly missing Peterson.
Peterson planned to check out at the register, where the vehicle eventually crashed. Her last minute change of heart saved her life. Kennedy Dowdell put the car in reverse, backed out of the store and bailed.
Court documents state that when police caught up to him and requested he take a sobriety test, he retorted “I ain't taking no test. I'm drunk and I know I will fail the test.”
