Namco announced that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be hitting store shelves in September. That narrows the "holiday 2012" window Namco Bandai released when they teased the game at last year's VGAs. Tekken Tag 2 will have more character combination than you could ask for - The game will have over 50 characters from the Tekken universe: That's got to be pretty much everybody.

The new two-on-two fighter will feature a slew of new modes. For example, in addition to one-on-one and two-on-two battles, players will be able to set up four-player "pair play" matches where each person controls one of the two member on each team.

There will also be an in-depth training mode - the "Fight Lab" - where players can work on their own combos and strategies, while sparring with a customizable training robot, COMBOT.

Namco says that a lot more Tekken Tag Tournament 2 info will be coming at E3 this June.
