Over a month after fatally shooting Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Fla., the Washington Post is reporting that George Zimmerman will be charged. At the moment, it is unclear what he will be charged with.

This news comes after special prosecutor Angela Corey released a statement saying she would make a big announcement regarding the case within the next 72 hours. This revelation also comes a day after Zimmerman’s lawyers withdrew from the case, saying they had lost contact with the 28-year-old.

Craig Sonner and Hal Uhrig, the lawyers, said they were concerned about Zimmerman’s well being, and that his whereabouts are unknown. While they stand by their original claims that Zimmerman acted in self defense, they revealed that those statements had been made without ever meeting Zimmerman.

ABC News reported that Corey had scheduled a press conference for 6 p.m. this evening, but CBS Miami couldn’t confirm the report. Should the press conference take place, it could outline formal charges for Zimmerman.

More on this as it develops.
