Today's award for "Most Awful Person of the Day" goes to this woman: A teacher in Washington, D.C. is being accused of taping her 9-year-old visually impaired student to his chair when he wouldn't stop fidgeting during a lesson, according to the New York Daily News.

The student, Christian Washington, told local news reporters that he didn't know what was going on at the time, only that he thought his teacher "was crazy." Washington is a fourth grader at Friendship Blow Pierce Junior Academy, a charter school in the D.C. area.

The teacher has not been identified, though she has been fired from her position at the school.

Washington's mother, Terik, says that the teacher did admit to taping Washington to his chair. "She said, 'Yes, but I don't want you to think that this is anything malicious. I don't want you to think that this was done out of spite or anything like that. He was on it and it was a game,' ... and I said, 'That's not a game.'"

Terik added that she had put Washington in a charter school because he had been bullied at other schools. She has also filed a complaint with police.
