It's bad news for Sega fans (and employees), as the company has just announced that they're undergoing a significant "restructuring" after some hefty financial losses. Jobs are being cut and games are being cancelled, though details are currently scarce on who, how many and what games.

They cite a need to "streamline organization" to "create a smaller company positioned for sustained profitability" and better adapt to "significant changes" in the industry.

They have mentioned that they're planning to move forward with at least four existing franchises: Sonic, Football Manager, Total War, and Aliens. So fans of those series won't have to worry. Anything else? Your guess is as good as ours.

Best wishes to anyone whose job is affected by this turn of events. Is this the right move for Sega? Any upcoming games you're worried about now? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter.
