Take this bit of news with a grain of salt the size of a car battery, but according to Cosmic Book News, Warner Brothers might be planning on releasing a Justice League movie in either 2015 or 2016. If true, Geoff Johns, DC's Chief Creative Officer, will be in charge of putting all of these films together, while David Goyer is currently being eyed to write the script for the movie.

But before any blockbuster ensemble piece gets the green light, the article is also reporting that the company is looking to release a sequel to Zack Synder'sMan of Steel and this summer's Green Lantern before a Justice League movie hits theaters. This will slowly build anticipation for a big ensemble piece much in the same way Marvel has done with Avengers.

The studio is also apparently looking to bring back Henry Cavill as Superman and Ryan Reynolds as the Green Lantern for the movie; meanwhile, Bat fans should prepare themselves to see a new man under the pointy earned cowl because Christian Bale will not be coming back when/if this Justice League movie ever gets released.

If, and this is a big if, Warner Brothers takes its time, rebuilds its individual properties, and eventually releases a big-budget Justice League movie down the road, the company might have a chance at crawling out of the hole that Green Lantern put it in. But all of this hinges on the box office success of Man of SteelGreen Lantern 2, and The Dark Knight Rises. At this point it's more likely that all of these plans will fall apart rather than come together nicely, but it's always nice to hope.
