Les Paul Google Doodle Lets You Record A Guitar Solo

This is Google's coolest Doodle yet.

After the playable Pac Man video game Google Doodle, we didn't think Google could possibly outdo itself. We were wrong. To commemorate the birthday of Les Paul, the inventor of the electric guitar, Google has put up a playable electric guitar Doodle.

The Doodle, currently featured on Google's search homepage, allows you to strum digital guitar strings by moving your cursor over them as they change color to reflect Google's logo. The sounds you'll hear are authentic Les Paul strums. The search giant says it used HTML 5, Javascript, and Flash (for older browsers) to make the Doodle. That allows it to do things like record your riffs (via a record button) and share them via a unique URL provided by Google.

Head over to Google.com now to try it out.
