Apple's Smart Cover is great. Using the built-in magnets to turn the iPad 2 on and off is genius. At the end of the day, however, the Smart Cover is simply that—just a cover. It does a good job of protecting your screen from debris, but the back of your iPad 2 is left more open than Kevin Durant when Westbrook had the ball in the Playoffs. To fix that, AViiQ, the company behind the cool Portable Laptop Stand, has released its Smart Cover.
Lightweight plastic encased in an anodized aluminum plate, the Smart Case connects to the rear of the iPad 2, and wraps around its borders to protect the back and the edges of the tablet. The Smart Cover can work with or without the Smart Cover, but having the two would make for a mean duo if the color combos were correct. To that end, the Smart Case comes in black, silver, blue, green, orange, pink, and red.
