Nintendo Reveals 18 Mario-less Launch Titles For 3DS

And a collective "meh" was heard around the world.

None

It feels like we’ve been waiting an eternity for the release of the Nintendo 3DS, and while we only have a smidge over a month left before the March 27 release, we’ve still yet to get an official list of the Day One titles . . . until now.  Nintendo has released said list, so feast your eyes on its glory (or lack thereof):

Pilotwings Resort (Nintendo)
Steel Diver (Nintendo)
Nintendogs + Cats (Nintendo)
Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition (Capcom)
The Sims 3 (EA)
Madden NFL Football (EA Sports)
Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D (Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc.)
LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars (LucasArts)
RIDGE RACER 3D (Namco Bandai)
Super Monkey Ball™ 3D (Sega)
BUST-A-MOVE UNIVERSE (Square-Enix, Inc.)
SAMURAI WARRIORS: Chronicles (Tecmo Koei)
Asphalt 3D (Ubisoft)
Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D (Ubisoft)
Rayman 3D (Ubisoft)
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Shadow Wars (Ubisoft)

Many of the highly anticipated games—like Kid Icarus: Uprising and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D—aren’t in the initial bunch.  Also missing are any titles featuring Nintendo’s pudgy plumber, Mario.  It’s all good though, as we’ll have Chun-Li in 3D to tide us over. [via Game Informer]
