From Labor Day all the way through the end of the year, the gaming calendar is dominated by monstrous sequel releases, from Halo: Reach to Call of Duty: Black Ops to Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood to Gran Turismo 5—but we're the most excited, weirdly, about the one game that's not a sequel. Well, it is, kinda, but it's more of a relaunch. EA's L.A. studio, now known as Danger Close, is behind next week's Medal of Honor, a modern-day FPS that follows "Tier One" operators from Joint Special Operations Command as they battle Taliban in Afghanistan—yes, they're based on real soldiers, and they are certifiably badass (and bearded). To drum up a little anticipation, EA brought the game to the houses of Asher Roth, Lil Jon, and...Sean Kingston? Not only does no one in the U.S. have a BlackBerry Bold, but we guess no one else got to play Medal of Honor, either. Except us, because that's how we roll, but no one really cares about watching videos of us pwning the Taliban. Anyway, peep the video; the game drops Oct. 12. See you online, suckas!
