VIDEO: Lucy Lawless Talks "Spartacus: Blood and Sand"

The name "Starz" isn't exactly synonymous with high-quality TV shows, but HBO and Showtime might want to watch their back. The underdog movie network's original programming has been quietly creeping up over the year few years, including their slept-on comedy series Party Down (which starts it's second season n April). And now, Starz is delving into Tudors/Rome territory with their action-packed historical drama Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

The show premieres tomorrow (January 22) at 10 pm on Starz, so we caught up with leading lady Lucy Lawless (yes, Xena!) to find out why we should tune in. Watch the quick video interview below...

Saw this on demand the other day and it is terrible. tries too hard to be 300, Rome and Skinemax at the same time. Very unoriginal.

Wow Lucy Lawless! Wasn't expecting her to be on Complex! s_ Collective 'UGH' when comes home to New Zealand? What does that even mean? If I recall correctly, she is a member of MNZM (New Zealand Order of Merit). Lucy puts on an American accent when she's acting. So does Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, etc. and tons of other talented thespians. You seem upset.
