As if we needed to tell you, the hype for Avengers: Endgame is very real. On Thursday, the most highly-anticipated film of the year dropped its latest trailer, and fans watched in record numbers, to the tune of 268 million times in the first 24 hours of its release.

Thank you to the greatest fans in the universe for making Marvel Studios' #CaptainMarvel the #1 movie in the world for two weeks in a row, and doing ‘whatever it takes’ to watch the #AvengersEndgame trailer 268 million times in 24 hours. pic.twitter.com/reSauLnnDA

It is the second-most watched movie trailer within the first day ever, trailing only Endgame's first trailer, which was viewed 289 million times in its first 24 hours. If you want to delve deeper down the rabbit hole of this distinctive record, the high mark was previously held by Avengers: Infinity War, amassing 230 million views in the same period.

The reason why two Endgame trailers and an Infinity War trailer occupy the top three spots of this record has to do with one simple fact.

we aren't even trying to watch the trailer over and over
we are trying to find easter eggs and some sneakies
