With the constant stream of envy-inducing (and admittedly genius) advertising that’s slowly but surely engulfing your very existence as we draw closer and closer to Santa’s big night, something genuinely worthy of the feels is a welcomed change.
The call for such feels has been answered by the team over at UPtv, who recently presented kids from the Metro Atlanta Boys & Girls Clubs with a potentially dicey proposition: Would you like a gift for yourself, or a gift for a family member? According to the latest survey, 83 percent of these kids come from low-income families. The kids were asked what they wanted for Christmas, with the answers ranging from an Xbox to a trophy case, before then being asked the same about their parents. "My mom would probably want a ring," one kid says. "She’s never really had a ring."
Though the video has garnered almost unanimous praise, a small army of cynics decided to march forward into the comments section to question the validity of the footage. UPtv, thankfully, quickly squashed the hate:
80 percent! That can safely be categorized under "vast majority," meaning these kids are legitimately nice and maybe the world isn't such a cruel and heartless wasteland after all. Thanks for the holiday feels, team.
