T-Pain’s "Buy U a Drank" has been a certified club anthem for years now; however, there’s a good chance most of you were singing it wrong the whole time.

On Wednesday, T-Pain went to Twitter to finally clarify the song’s lyrics—specifically the lines in the hook. Many people have sang the song: "I'ma buy you a drank / (Ooh wee) I'ma take you home with me." But the actual lyrics are: "I'ma buy you a drank (And then) I'ma take you home with me."

In retrospect, this makes a lot more sense. But don’t feel too bad if you’ve been messing up the lyrics for the past decade. T-Pain insists the lyrics are "whatever you want it to be." He’s just grateful that you enjoy the record.

Shit crazy I really thought T-Pain said "oooooweee" in buy u a drank but he was saying "and then" I feel like my life is a lie deadass..... or is this The Mandela Effect 🤔

The news sparked shock and denial.

when t-pain said it’s “and theeen” instead of “ooh weee” when the buy u a drank chorus hits... pic.twitter.com/CW8bxdpJfy

Goodnight everyone (except T-Pain who tried to change the lyrics of Buy U A Drank in 2017) Sleep tight ✨

Woke up saw the infinity war trailer then found out T-Pain says “and theeen” and not “ooo wee” on Buy U A Drank.

Today’s been wild.

It's too late to change All I Do is Win. My hands already went up and stayed there. And stayed there. No One said anything T-Pain.

I really feel dumb. I just listened to “Buy You a Drink” & “All I Do Is Win” again just to hear T-Pain tell me my life was a lie.

T-Pain wasn’t done. Shortly after he cleared up the lyrics for "Buy U a Drank," he turned his attention to the 2010 DJ Khaled track "All I Do Is Win," which featured him, Rick Ross, Ludacris, and Snoop Dogg. Many people misheard the hook’s lyrics as: "Everybody hands go up / And they stay there, and stay there." But T-Pain revealed that the actual line is: “And they stay there, and they say yeah.”

He apologized for the misunderstanding.
