Desiigner discussed the remix with Billboard prior to its release, insisting his involvement took the track to a whole new level.

“I add that extra energy to it. Add that spice. That turned-up spice. All that extra,” said the rapper, who met BTS at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards. “What ['Mic Drop'] means to me is definitely -- like when you really amazingly, tremendously kill the beat. And you just drop the mic after that. You just know that you did your thing on that.”

The Aoki-produced remix is available now on iTunes and Spotify below.

“Mic Drop” appeared on the group’s record-breaking Love Yourself: Her EP, which arrived back in September. The project became the highest-charting Korean album on the Billboard 200 when it debuted at No. 7. BTS also became the second Korean act to appear on the Hot 100 with “DNA,” the lead single off Love Yourself: Her. (The first Korean-language single to do this was Psy’s “Gangnam Style,” which peaked at No. 2 in 2012.)
