Last week, Chance the Rapper's Acid Rap sold 1,000 copies and landed at No. 63 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Good for him! Wait, isn't that album for free? Wait a minute! It is for free and has been since April 30.

According to Billboard, someone has been selling the mixtape in both physical and digital copies on retailers like Amazon and iTunes. Chance's reps claimed they had no knowledge, gave no permissions, and recieved no compensation for the sales.

Although digital versions have recently been pulled from retailers, physical are still being sold by a company called Mtc.

"I've never heard of Mtc, so this has taken us by surprise," said Chance's manager Patrick Corcoran to Billboard. "But when I first saw it I showed Chance, and his lawyers are trying to stop it."

Hopefully they can stop it before someone else gets rich off their hard work. In the meantime, if you're thinking about buying Acid Rap, don't. Just download it for free right here on Chance's website.
