The latest chapter in the ever-growing Donald Trump Jr. and Aubrey O'Day scandal is a slippery one. The president's eldest son allegedly had an affair with the former Celebrity Apprentice contestant/Danity Kane singer in 2011, and their alleged romp came to a halt once Trump Jr.'s wife found evidence of what was going down.

While he was taking a shower, his wife Vanessa saw "sexy texts" coming from O'Day as his phone sat on the bedside table. "This is how Vanessa found out and the affair ended," a previous Celebrity Apprentice employee told PEOPLE. "To Don Jr. [the affair] was very exciting,” the insider added. “Aubrey was very, very into Don. He liked her but she was definitely more keen on him."

Trump Jr. met O'Day on the set of season five of The Celebrity Apprentice. Their affair allegedly ran from the end of 2011 to March 2012. Just a few days before this mess unfolded, Vanessa announced she will be seeking a divorce after 12 years of marriage. She filed in Manhattan Supreme Court and reportedly doesn't want a custody battle over their five kids. "The problems have been there for a long time, the couple had hoped to stay together during the president’s time in office, but it is getting harder to resolve their issues. He’s never there," a source told Page Six.

As news about the affair was heating up, the internet dug up O'Day's "DTJ" song from her 2013 EP Between Two Evils that may have been hinting at their short-lived relationship. "You want to believe that everything with me was a lie? A fantasy? / And you want to go back and live in the life that you had have forever?" she sings. "I hate me for loving you, hate you for letting our love die."

TMZ also shared previously unreleased footage of a music video for O'Day's remake of Gotye's 2011 smash "Somebody That I Used to Know." "You said there was a reason for your pain, but you were scared to ruin your family's name / Your wife's the only one glad we are over," she sings while dancing topless with phrases like "love," "hate," "cheater," and "liar" written in black all over her body. Ouch.
