Cryptocurrency might still be new to the masses, but it's made enough headway for Forbes to finally rank the richest investors and creatives surrounding it. From Ripple to Litecoin and arguably the most popular Bitcoin, it's a huge market with around $550 billion at play. The growth has been so lucrative but hard to keep track of, that 50 Cent forgot a whole $8 million he made from it in 2014.

It can be tricky to hedge your bets on already established currencies like Bitcoin, but early adopters from independent investors and bank CEOs have seen their own pockets grow right along with the phenomenon of digital currency over the last decade. The Winklevoss twins show up on the list, along with Ethereum CEO Joseph Lubin and banking heir Matthew Mellon, each sitting on over $1B in crypto net worth.

Some Twitter users joked, probably working through their own regrets, after news of the list hit.

Kind of makes you wish you bought some Bitcoin back in 2010 when the price was $0.08 each, doesn't it?
