Police arrested a North Carolina police dispatcher’s husband after finding 65 pounds of marijuana at their home on Monday. According to Charlotte, North Carolina ABC affiliate WSOC-TV, Blong Ly Vang, 34, and his wife—who has yet to be named—reportedly had $130,000 of marijuana stashed in their residence.

Catawba County narcotics officers requested to inspect Vang’s home due to excessive drug trafficking in the area. Vang’s wife—an employee of the Hickory, North Carolina police department—allowed the investigation until the police discovered three pounds of marijuana.

Upon obtaining a search warrant, the cops inspected the residence again and found more bundles of marijuana hidden inside a bedroom. They also found a stolen gun from Georgia, another weapon, weighing scales, and vacuum sealers.

The police employed the “knock and talk” tactic, where law enforcement approach homes and ask for consent to search inside. The police told Charlotte CBS affiliate WBTV that this "knock and talk" brought them the “largest seizure of Marijuana this year by our Drug Task Force.”

“An operation this size is not someone sitting around their home with a ‘smoke bag,’” Capt. Jason Reid said. “This has a low-end street value of over $130,000. Our drug investigators continue to remain relentless on the distribution of controlled substances in our community.”

According to the New York Post, Vang has racked up a number of felonies, including felony trafficking marijuana by possession, felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, felony possession of a weapon by convicted felon, and felony possession of a stolen firearm.

He is being held in jail with a $250,000 bond. Vang’s wife has been let go from her position as police dispatcher and is currently being investigated. The police have yet to charge her with a crime.
