Samsung Unveils World's First LCD Tablet Display With 2560x1600 Resolution

If you fall into the category of people who are waiting for tablets to have displays that match the high resolution some smart phones, you may not be waiting for much longer. Samsung has let loose some info on its new HD LCD tablet display that it plans to demonstrate at the SID Display Week 2011 International Symposium.

Samsung's display clocks in with a resolution of 2560x1600 and a screen density of 300 dpi (the iPad 2 has 132 dpi). There's no word on if the high-definition display, which is supposed to become available to tablet makers later this year, will makes its way into the 10.0-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Apple is reportedly working on bringing a high-resolution display to its next iPad, and while this screen is too big and too high-def, it does prove that tablets can support displays with wild resolutions.
