Instagram continues to be a valuable tool for apparel companies looking to promote their brands. The social platform saw over 36 brands gain 100,000 followers in just the past month, compare that to Facebook and Twitter where only 16 and 5 apparel accounts, respectively, were able to put up such numbers, according to WWDThe least surprising bit of this news is that the brand that is putting up the best numbers on Instagram is sportswear giant Nike

Nike added 1.4 million followers in the last month, which crushed almost every other apparel company except Victoria Beckham, which added 1.2 million. Other inclusions in the top five gainers are Dior, Louis Vuitton, and adidas, which is probably heating up after recent posts detailing the release of the Yeezy 350 Boost. However, none of those brands even topped 550,000 new followers, which only makes Nike's stratospheric stats look more impressive. What's really crazy, though, is that the Swoosh only posted five new photos all month.

It makes sense that Instagram has become a destination for fashion brands. The photo-sharing platform is an easy way to share snaps of new clothes, or in Nike's case, gorgeous inspirational shots that showcase the brand's ambassadors and gear.
