Anna Wintour is being considered by Barack Obama to be the next ambassador to either the U.K. or France, sources close to the matter say. As one of the President's top fund-raisers in the recent election, the Vogue editor is in a position that is usually rewarded with an ambassadorship to a posh country. Born in the U.K. and now a U.S. citizen, Wintour raised enough money through her celebrity-attended dinners to become one of Obama's top 10 fund-raisers, the same sources say.
But it doesn't seem like Wintour will be leaving the top spot at Vogue anytime soon. A spokeswoman for Vogue said that Wintour is not interested in a diplomatic appointment. “She’s very happy with her current job,” the spokeswoman said.
