A lot of folks didn't think Phil Jackson was going to stay retired for long. They may be right, because a source close to Jackson told ESPN he was "ready to go back to work."

It isn't clear to what extent, but a front office role is a possibility. Jackson made it clear he'd like a front office role that would allow him the control to mold a franchise like Pat Riley has done with the Heat. The source also said that he'd be open to coaching if he's needed during a transition period for the franchise he chooses.

He previously rejected the Bulls' and Cleveland's head coaching offers, then passed on an undefined role with the Raptors — which is all good because they have Drake.

The Knicks are the latest franchise trying to get Jackson to roll with them. New York recently offered Jackson a front office role, which could be troublesome since James Dolan likes to meddle and the Knicks like to suck. The coaching legend is expected to give his decision next week.
