Ryan Leaf is easily one of the biggest busts in NFL history. Once upon a time, he was supposed to be every bit as good as Peyton Manning on the pro football field. But now? Well, now he's little more than a punchline. He hasn't played football in more than ten years. He's been in and out of jail for the better part of the last decade. And his life has spiraled out of control.

But after reading a new piece about him in the September 2013 issue of Playboy—which was penned by Leaf's prison cellmate/pen pal John Cagney Nash—we think that you'll look at Leaf a little bit differently. His life is every bit as bad as it sounds like it is these days. But it's hard to hate on a guy who has gone through 15 years of "HEY, YOU'RE RYAN LEAF! YOU SUCK, DUDE! YOU WERE SUCH A BUST IN THE NFL!" If nothing else, the Playboy piece will force you to think about what it's like to be Ryan Leaf today. He's 37 and is still trying to find his way in the world post-football.

You can check out the entire story over here (don't worry, it's SFW!). What do you think about Montana State Prison Inmate No. 3005025 after reading it?
