Making a list like this is making a distinction between sneakers and boots. Growing up there wasn’t always a clear line between choices. Boots were as common as wearing J’s. Me personally, I would say in the beginning wearing boots was just a smart financial choice. My parents were not in any position to pour their hard earned into an infinite rotation of the latest and greatest. Boots were something I could wear for a long period of time without looking uncool — especially through the hell we called winter. On the flip side of that coin, boots represented something else to me. They were a symbol of handling your business, standing on your own, not swaying and following the trends. I still stand by those attributes today and still wear boots regardless of how much eBay heat is in storage. —FRANK THE BUTCHER

Sorry son, but no way are timbs nice looking, at all. Polo>Nike>Timbs. Wearing buttas is a sure sign you can't dress, or come from NY, and should stay in the burrows where they belong and out of sight of normal people.

Geez, growing up in NYC in the 90's. Dolo Hawks, Vasque sundowners and skywalkers, Baltoros...that was my winter rotation with the Lo and Face. This list brings back so many hoodrat memories haha.

I think Smokey was born post 1995..Polo boots are wack now unless you have OG cookie boots with vibram soles. Any polo boots made after 2000 are made of plastic. 6 inch premiums are also my go to nowadays; dress them up, dress them down, all good. Also putting Polo in front of Nike and Timberland shows that you don't know much about what goes into your footwear..

wackest line up ever, the timberland gore tek line in the 90's is not even in here. The dark brown leathers, black, and tan suede's, every color way they came out with was killin' em.
