Pop singer-songwriter Hayley Kiyoko finally dropped the visual for her single "What I Need" featuring Kehlani.

The fun video was directed by Kiyoko herself and plays more like a short film than anything else. The singers play best friends in the clip, heading out on a road trip and coming across a few problems along the way before their close friendship blossoms into a touching moment. A press release calls the video "a love story that illuminates the importance of having someone close to you, who cares for you in times of need without judgment and supports you no matter what."

Kiyoko has been outspoken in the past about LGBT identity and using her work to go against current social norms, particularly when it comes to representation. Most recently, the singer hit back to Rita Ora's song "Girls," purporting that it sends a "dangerous" message that "fuels the male gaze while marginalizing the idea of women loving women."
